174: Go Have Some Fun, You Health Depends on It
What if your inability to relax, enjoy life, or have fun… isn’t just a personality trait?
What if it’s actually affecting your body?
In this episode, we’re talking about the biology of happiness and why joy, laughter, and enjoyment are not optional extras in the Christian life… they are part of how God designed your body to function.
Because here’s what’s true:
When you live in a constant state of stress, pressure, overthinking, and striving, your body keeps score.
And over time, it starts to show up as anxiety, poor sleep, tension, burnout, and even physical symptoms.
But the opposite is also true.
Joy heals.
Rest restores.
Enjoyment regulates.
In this episode, I’m breaking down:
What happens in your brain and body when you experience joy, laughter, and pleasure
Why chronic stress and “always being on” is dysregulating your system
The difference between numbing out (scrolling, overworking, distracting) and true enjoyment
How doing simple, enjoyable things can actually begin to heal your mind, body, and soul
Why some of you don’t need more insight, more processing, or more overthinking… you need to actually do something different
We also talk about this honestly:
Yes, counseling and coaching can be incredibly helpful.
But for some of you, what’s keeping you stuck isn’t a lack of insight… it’s a lack of joyful living.
You may need to spend a season prioritizing play, rest, and enjoyment and see what that does in your body.
This is an invitation to stop overcomplicating things…and start receiving what God has already given.
Because taking care of your health might look a lot more like going outside, laughing, resting, and enjoying your life than you think.
